With the success of the Test Pilot Run, Doctor Who Monster Invasion was released Nationwide. The differences as mentioned above, included the rear of the cards now having coloured paradigm daleks on the reverse and the packaging as well as being a much larger set, additionally, the cards had extra features. An example was the weeping angel card. In the Test Set, this was a foil card, however in the National Run it was given a textured feel to mimic stone. Regarding the set size, instead of 90, the card set was now out of 165 cards.

Packs included 9 cards, following the same categories as the initial test run. Including the initial run the cards consisted of; 130 Common cards (12 doctors, 13 villains, 27 doctor's allies, 25 monsters, 14 gadgets, and 39 adventures); 17 Rares (1 doctor, 3 villains, 1 doctor's allies, 4 monsters, 3 gadgets, and 5 adventures); 12 Super Rares (1 doctor, 2 villains, 2 doctor's allies, 6 monsters, and 1 gadget); 5 Ultra Rares (2 villains, 2 monsters, and 1 adventure); One Infinite card (Assimilate)

In terms of cards per category these were; Doctors (14 blue cards); Villains (20 purple cards); Doctor's Allies (30 turquoise cards); Monsters (37 red cards); Gadgets (18 green cards); Adventures (45 yellow cards); Infinite (one card); Several of these cards were special cards with an interactive element on the official website.

During this national release, tins of card were also released which contained five packs of Monster Invasion base set cards.
